Terraces have always fascinated me. From exchanging gossips to plain peeping into the neighboring houses - the terrace ('chaad' in Bengali) has a special designation in my list of nostalgias. I am fascinated by the idea of being able to zoom in and zoom out of my subject at my own ease - tracking people, incidents, the innumerable wires and cables trailing into the various houses, the mossy dampness on the terrace walls giving birth to textures and colors that I trace out on my canvases with so much of difficulty.
